Responsible AI Use
Every workflow taught at Lawnova Academy keeps a qualified person accountable for the result. AI accelerates legal work; it does not make legal judgments. This principle governs our curriculum, our labs, and the certificates we issue.
- AI outputs must be verified against grounded sources before use in any legal work product.
- No client-identifying or confidential matter data may be entered into training labs.
- Trial and verdict tools are taught as decision-support simulations, never as outcome predictions.
- Learners attest to understanding human-in-the-loop obligations before certification.
This policy aligns our training with the duty of technological competence reflected in ABA Model Rule 1.1 and analogous state rules. It is an educational standard, not legal advice.

Academic Integrity
Certificates mean something only if the work behind them is genuine. Assessments are designed to evaluate applied judgment — the part AI cannot do for you.
- Capstone deliverables must reflect the learner's own analysis and verification.
- Use of AI tools within assignments is expected and disclosed — concealing process is the violation, not using tools.
- Misrepresentation of credentials or verification status is grounds for revocation.

Privacy & Data
We collect only what we need to deliver the program and issue verifiable credentials, and we are explicit about how labs handle data.
- Application and account data is used to deliver instruction and confirm credentials.
- Lab exercises run on supplied, non-confidential files inside gated sandboxes.
- Credential verification exposes only level, status, and issue date — never application details.
- We do not sell learner data.

Accessibility
The Academy is built to be usable by every learner. We design to WCAG 2.1 AA as a baseline and welcome accommodation requests.
- Live sessions offer captioning; recordings include transcripts.
- Materials are structured for screen readers and keyboard navigation.
- Accommodation requests can be made at any point — before or during a cohort.
Need an accommodation? Contact access@lawnova.org and our Student Affairs team will respond promptly.
